How to Feed Your Maine Coon
Feeding your Maine Coon properly is one of the most important steps to ensure their healthy growth and long, happy life. Maine Coons are a large, slow-maturing breed, and their nutritional needs are slightly different from most cats — they require a balanced diet that supports strong bones, muscle development, and a healthy coat.
At True North Maine Coons, we feed all our breeding cats and kittens with Premium Royal Canin dry and wet food, specially formulated for each stage of their life.
Feeding Recommendations:

Kittens (1–4 months old):
We recommend Royal Canin Mother & Babycat wet and dry food. It’s easy to digest and supports the immune system during early development. -
Kittens (4–12 months old):
Transition to Royal Canin Kitten (Chaton) dry and wet food, which provides the right balance of protein, vitamins, and minerals to help your kitten grow strong and healthy. -
Spayed/Neutered Kittens (6–12 months old):
Choose Royal Canin Spayed/Neutered Kitten food — it’s designed to maintain a healthy weight after sterilization while still supporting growth. -
Adult Cats:
Once your cat reaches adulthood, we recommend Royal Canin Maine Coon Adult dry and wet food. This formula supports joint health, heart function, and keeps their luxurious coat soft and shiny.
